Soleman Sujan, a member of the Awami League’s youth wing (Jubo Dal), has been banned for life from all party activities following his arrest in connection with a robbery involving a truck loaded with iron rods in Kabirhat Upazila.
The Kabirhat Upazila Jubo Dal unit confirmed the decision through a press release signed by Sundolpur Union Jubo Dal convener Mosharraf Hossain Suman and secretary Jahangir Alam on Sunday afternoon (August 10). The incident began when a gang from Kabirhat stole a truck loaded with rods from Comilla. During the unloading process, police caught Soleman Sujan and another accomplice red-handed. The arrested individuals are identified as Soleman Sujan, son of Mofizur Rahman Anondo Master of Sundolpur village, and Abu Sayed, son of Omar Ali from Uttar Ghoshbagh village in Kabirhat municipality.
On Sunday evening, police filed a robbery case at Kabirhat Police Station against a total of 10 to 12 suspects, including the two arrested men. The arrest came after police detained them from Ward No. 5 of Sundolpur Union late Saturday night around midnight.

According to the police, officers on duty became suspicious of two youths near Kabirhat and Bhuiyarhat markets. Upon questioning, the men claimed to be the truck’s driver and helper and alleged that robbers from Comilla forced them at gunpoint to transport the truck and rods. Police then contacted the vehicle owner and used a tracker to locate the truck in Sundolpur, where they recovered the rods and arrested the two men.
Kabirhat Police Officer-in-Charge Shahin Mia confirmed the arrests, stating, “We caught the youths red-handed unloading the rods. They were handed over to the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court. Police are conducting further operations to arrest other accused.”
