In a disturbing incident, a threatening note reading “Prepare yourself Rajakar” along with a burial shroud was found outside the residence of a National Citizens’ Party (NCP) leader in Rajshahi. The incident took place late Saturday night (9 August) at Khalid Hasan’s home in Dhurail village of Mohanpur Upazila.
Khalid Hasan, also known as Milu, is a member of the NCP Rajshahi district coordination committee and a former organizer of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
According to Khalid Hasan, at around 11:30 pm on Saturday, while sitting inside his house, an unknown person outside his window told him to “go out and see.” Upon stepping onto the veranda, Khalid saw a piece of wood tied to tin burning, and smelled petrol nearby.

When he went outside, he noticed a plastic bag on the ground. After the police arrived and inspected the site, they found a burial shroud along with the threatening note inside the bag. The police confiscated both items.
Khalid Hasan expressed his concern and fear over the threat. He noted that the note included the slogan “Joy Bangla,” indicating the possible identity or political motivation of the perpetrators. He stated his intention to file a formal complaint with the local police.
