Since 2008, Tarique Rahman has been residing in the United Kingdom as a political asylum seeker. While he has continued to make key decisions as the acting chairman of the BNP during this time, his absence from on-the-ground politics in Bangladesh has drawn significant criticism.

Leadership of a nation demands more than just political command—it requires trust and rapport with the country’s security forces, including the military and police. How successful Tarique Rahman will be in earning their confidence remains a pivotal question. Moreover, his global political standing, diplomatic abilities, and relationships with foreign nations will also play crucial roles in defining his leadership potential.
Conclusion
There is both curiosity and skepticism surrounding Tarique Rahman. Is he merely the son of the late President Ziaur Rahman, or a legitimate contender for the nation’s future leadership? Time will tell. However, the people of Bangladesh have a right to know more factual, transparent information about him.
