The current situation can be traced back to 2014, when Ukraine’s democratically elected, pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted during the so-called Orange Revolution. While the uprising appeared to be a grassroots movement driven by students and civil society, evidence points to deep involvement by U.S. agencies and organizations.
Entities like USAID, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the Open Society Foundations reportedly provided funding, training, and even arms to activists, influencing the direction and outcome of the uprising.
The Mystery Behind the Sniper Attacks
Research by Professor Ivan Katchanovski from the University of Ottawa suggests that many of the deaths during the 2014 protests were caused by sniper attacks orchestrated from within the protest groups themselves. Ballistic and injury analyses support this theory.
Further confirmation came from a leaked phone call between then-EU Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton and Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet. In the conversation, Paet states that the snipers were likely aligned with the opposition, to which Ashton responds in disbelief: “I didn’t know that… Oh my God.”
Zelenskyy’s Rise and the Election Strategy
Following the coup, Ukraine’s political landscape was reshaped. Elections were delayed until 2019, when actor Volodymyr Zelenskyy, backed by Western interests, was strategically elevated to the presidency. Under his leadership, Ukraine gradually aligned with NATO interests, eventually drawing Russia into full-scale war.

As Ukraine’s territorial losses mounted, U.S. corporate and military-industrial entities began securing control over the nation’s valuable underground resources. Under the guise of investment and economic aid, American companies gained access to rare minerals by locking Ukraine into unsustainable debt.

- Four provinces have fallen under Russian control, accounting for nearly a quarter of Ukraine’s land.
