A severe heatwave is currently sweeping across Bangladesh, with all 64 districts experiencing soaring temperatures. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), while early May saw relatively tolerable weather, temperatures began rising sharply from Wednesday. As a result, today (Saturday, May 3), the entire country, including the capital Dhaka, is facing intense heatwave conditions. Dhaka recorded the highest temperature of the season at 40.1°C.
Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana stated that almost every district is under the grip of a heatwave, with Chuadanga experiencing an extreme heatwave, marking the country’s highest temperature today at 42°C.

According to the latest weather forecast:
- Extreme to Severe Heatwave is affecting the districts of Chuadanga, Dhaka, Tangail, Manikganj, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Sirajganj, and Jashore.
- Mild to Moderate Heatwave is prevailing across the rest of the country.
